At Happy Hennz, we put the hens first. Our hens are free range and pastured which means they have access to fresh Pasture all day with no restrictions. This allows the hens to consume natural ingredients such as bugs, insects, worms and fresh pasture. Our hens can express their natural behaviors such as foraging, dust bathing and socialising with other hens in our spacious paddocks. All of these components contribute to a happier hen and a more nutritious and better tasting egg!
their homes
Our home-built egg mobiles are shelters for our hens to sleep and peacefully lay their eggs. They are never locked so the hens can wonder in and out as they please. The egg mobiles are moved regularly to spread the chicken manure that drops overnight while the chickens are roosting. This is amazing fertilizer for the soil and helps regenerate and improve the quality of the soil.
